Have you heard
about the ancient myth, the legend of the giant seahorses in the south
seas ? People say that many years ago, horses lived on the southern islands.
The problem was that there wasn't enough space for such a big animal to
freely run around, so they finally decided to escape into the sea, where
they could move as much as they wanted. Firstly, they got used to walk
in a straight position, the hind legs changed into a strong spiral
and the front legs gradually disappeared. So the giant seahorses - called
hippocampus magnus - found their new home in the sea, while the ones on
the very small islands soon died out. Seamen who have seen the giant seahorses
say that they were between 4 and 8 metres large with their tails turned
in, and compared to the other giant sea-animals, they were always known
to be very friendly and even to bring one luck.
So let me take this
wonderful opportunity here to wish you lots of luck and much fun enjoying
my seahorse-dream-aquarium-homepage !
